Showered With Love

Some sweeties at church hosted a baby shower for us last month. It was a lot of fun, complete with cheesy games, yummy cake, thoughtful gifts, and lots of kind wishes. Folks reflected not only our joy, but their own excitement over a little one joining our community of faith. We loved seeing their excitement. As they say, "It takes a village," and we have been blessed with a village in which to raise our child. We are so thankful for this community that will love and nurture our child. They already are an important source of strength to us as we start out on this adventure.

It was also fun to see the children of the church so excited. A few of them made us homemade gifts (like a picture frame) or passed down some of their favorites from when they were littles (like a duck towel...but the towel in the pic is of a different 'frog' towel).

My favorite game was 'draw a baby on a paper plate on your head' game. The babies turned out really goofy looking because no one could see what they were drawing. Of course Nate chose the one with the biggest head as the winner! The baby on my plate turned out like all my childhood drawings and rather resembled a puppy dog/bear combination...but with the face floating around outside the body:)

It was lovely to be showered with so much love.
