Date Night x 3

This fall we tried to go out every other week for a date. We didn't always stick to the plan, but had some really fun dates!
Here are pics from 3 different dates.

Date 1# Cheese!
Haystack goat dairy in Longmont Colorado. Plus, after visiting the creamery we happened to find a French inspired cheese shop down the road (no connection) where we had lunch and toured the european cheese warehouse. It was an awesome day. We actually bought a new car the same day...but that just happened to be because the dealership was near the creamery. The cheese outing was the real date,

Date #2 B-ball!
After dropping my parents off at the airport after our Thanksgiving reunion, Nate took me to the Nuggets game in Denver and to PFChangs for some chinese after. We have become such fans of the Denver Nuggets. Carmelo Anthony only played one minute and then went home(because of a cold), but they still beat the Phoenix Suns by 5 points.

Date #3 Overnighter in Denver and a day at the Botanic Gardens
A great 24 hours. First we spent an evening down in Denver with some friends. Together we viewed a recent Sundance film called A Small Act. It was a touching story about the transformation that occurs when one human being helps another in a seemingly small way. After participating in a discussion with the writer/director/producer we all went out on the town for a lovely dinner.

We stayed the night and enjoyed the hospitality of a friend we have met through our clergy action network. Marilyn and her husband co-led an affordable housing project for many years. Now she is the project director for our clergy action network. She is deeply motivated by her faith and values to help clergy have a voice in working for social justice. Together we are doing good things. She has a lovely home that she and her husband have lived in since 1974.

The next morning we slept in. It was such a thrill...just having one day to wake up to coffee already made and to have the phone turned off...no wireless capabilities either. It was sunny and mild enough (mid December mind you!)that Nate and I enjoyed reading the paper and eating the cherry strudel in their backyard!
Then we drove to the Denver Botanic gardens to enjoy their winter outdoor gardens and their greenhouse. I stocked up on some seeds for next spring and had the most fun in the tropical greenhouse.

Thanksgiving for outings to help me breath deep. Each one brought cheer, bits of silence, laughter and good times for the two of us.
