Home on the (Front) Range

We are home! We have been mostly away since June 14th- spending time in New Mexico (a youth trip), New York (continuing education), Michigan (a week with the Hills on the lake), and passing briefly through Chicago (to see my seminary roomate's new baby...only for 3 hrs, and Kansas (two brief overnighters as we were passing through to see my in-laws new home, town and church....whew! One week of the last 5 was spent in Colorado. We enjoyed the time of my dear college friends Molly and Scott to whom we will be forever indebted for being so cheery about spending their vacation with us considering the chaos of the week. We were not only moving homes, but we were preparing to leave town while trying to rent our leased home as well as being on call for church crisis that came up...and did they ever. Despite it all, our reunion was balm for my soul and a great deal of fun.

As we pulled into Evans/Greeley in the wee hours of last Monday night, this place felt like home. It was a good feeling. We missed our flock and all seem to be more or less well. We have had some major stressors at church lately that took us all by surprise, but we are adjusting and getting through it together.

As I reflect on these past weeks I will post tales of our adventures and pics, but for now, I thought I would share a bit of today.

This lovely Saturday has really been my first Saturday at home alone to just BE. Of course there is still major house work to be done, but today was mostly just a nice day of rest. We stopped by the Greeley arts picnic earlier in the day to see what local crafters and artists are making. Then I took a glorius nap for goodness knows how long. Now, Nate is at the church sermonizing. While he is away Javy and I went walking and I took the pics below of the new house. I am presently enjoying Riesling and strawberries! Chilled wine and strawberries helps beat the heat they say:)
Here are pics of portions of the house that are presentable so far. As you can see, our backyard is rather overgrown!
